Without trust, there can be no meaningful connection between people. Without self-compassion, our inner critic will thrive and limit brave, mindful living. And without heartfelt apologies, we can't heal from hurt...
In this engaging online course, Brené Brown, Ph.D. will guide you through three experiential modules:
Trust is critical in every aspect of our lives, yet we struggle with how to talk about it. When we say “I just don’t trust you” to someone, it rarely helps. It’s overwhelmingly painful to hear and it gives us no direction about what specifically needs to change. In this module, you'll learn:
- What trust is, how it works, and how it grows
- How to identify, understand, and talk about the seven elements of trust with your clients
- Actionable strategies for re-building self-trust after personal or professional setbacks
Why are we so often our own toughest critic? Why do we talk to ourselves in ways that we would never consider speaking to others? Self-compassion and mindfulness are central to living a brave, courageous life. In this module, Drs. Kristin Neff and Brené Brown share:
- How to acknowledge, understand and calm the inner self-critical voice
- Tools and exercises that build compassion, kindness, emotional well-being, and resilience
- Research-based strategies to help integrate self-compassion into personal and professional settings (and actually practice it)
We're human, we hurt each other, we get hurt. Healing that hurt depends on the ability to deliver and accept a heartfelt apology. In this module, Drs. Harriet Lerner and Brené Brown share:
- Nine essential ingredients of a heartfelt apology and how to deliver a truly meaningful apology
- How to decode half-hearted or inauthentic apologies that aren't really apologies at all
- Exercises to share with clients for restoring connection in damaged relationships
“I’m not worthy or good enough for love, belonging, or connection.” This is the voice of shame, the universal emotion we're afraid to talk about. The less we talk about it, the more we have it...and the more likely we are to struggle with addiction, trauma, aggression, depression, eating disorders, bullying and more.
In this free bonus video you'll learn:
- The three common “shame shields” we use to protect ourselves and the context in which we use them
- Exercises to recognize patterned ways of managing shame in our clients and ourselves
- Strategies to develop shame resilience skills through recognition, awareness, sharing, and speaking shame
